Cape Royale Hunt

Wildlife Management & Hunter Portal

This portal supplements Cape Royale hunting procedures and does not replace required gate sign-in paperwork or committee rules.

Cape Royale Hunter Portal

Register using your own email. Wildlife Committee approval and an active hunter roster match are required before site access.

⚠ REQUIRED CAPE ROYALE CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT STILL APPLIES

This website does NOT count as official hunter check-in or check-out. Every hunter must continue to follow all Cape Royale gate, POA and CRWC check-in/check-out procedures exactly as required by the hunting rules.

This portal is a volunteer wildlife-management data tool only. Information entered here helps the Wildlife Committee better understand and evaluate the deer herd, including herd health, fawn recruitment, buck-to-doe ratio, harvest pressure, population trends and estimated deer density.

Bow Hunting Rules — Supplied POA/CRWC Policy

Source: Cape Royale Game Management–Bow Hunting Policy, dated August 28, 2022, referring to the 2023 season. Verify season-specific dates, fees and any amendments with the committee for 2026. Texas Parks & Wildlife regulations also apply.

  • Longbows, compound bows and crossbows are allowed. Mark arrows with your CRWC hunter number or name.
  • Hunt only CRWC-established, authorized sites on POA land or land approved for hunting.
  • Hunters must be at least 21 and meet required archery training and proficiency requirements.
  • Only one hunter per site. No children or guests, except an approved disability accommodation.
  • No roaming or stalking. Shots within 20 yards are encouraged; no shots beyond 25 yards.
  • Wear an orange hunting vest and orange hat or cap.
  • Official check-in/out remains mandatory: register at the gate as applicable and check in/out with a CRWC member. This website does NOT replace those procedures.
  • Under the supplied policy, check-in is no earlier than 1½ hours before sunrise; leave stands within ½ hour after sunset.
  • Get the Officer of the Day phone number at check-in. Report harvested deer, deer sightings and site problems at check-out.
  • Field dress only at the designated Cape location. Cover harvested game while transporting it out of public sight.
  • If a deer enters private property, contact the POA Manager or Officer of the Day to obtain the owner's permission before recovery, unless already granted.
  • Do not confront residents; report problems to the Officer of the Day, CRWC, POA Manager or TPWD Game Warden.
  • The supplied policy encourages two does and requires at least one doe harvested before harvesting a buck.
  • For the supplied 2023 policy, hunting days were Tuesday–Thursday, excluding Thanksgiving week. Confirm the CURRENT 2026 schedule with CRWC.

Important: The signed, currently adopted POA/CRWC rules and applicable TPWD regulations control. This is a field reference, not a replacement for official documents.
